The final of the inaugural season of the World Boxing Super Series, Callum faced fellow Brit WBA champion George Groves in Saudi Arabia. Callum stopped Groves in the 7th round to become the WBA (super), WBC Diamond and the Ring Magazine champion.

Callum began fight week expecting to fight Jurgen Brahmer, but following Brahmer's withdrawal from the contest Nieky Holzken (13-0-0 10 KO) stepped in as a replacement. Holzken, a seven time world kickboxing champion, was looking to make his mark on the boxing scene. Holzken had been due to fight on the undercard of the show.

Skoglund (26-0-0) was highly ranked by the governing bodies at light heavyweight before moving down a weight in order to enter the World Boxing Super Series. Callum overcame a few difficult middle-rounds when Skoglund’s jab caused issue to knock him down in the 11th. The pair embraced at the start of the final round, showing more of the great sportsmanship that both camps had showed throughout the fight build up.

Having had the bar lifted with Fielding, the team wanted to give Callum another big test. Mohoumadi was a durable boxer with a 19-3-1 record, having never been stopped. This included going the distance with James Degale.
Callum won the European super-middleweight title by way of a first round knock out.

Callum won his first title, the English super-middleweight title, by way of a first round knockout against the durable Mendy who had never been stopped (14-6-1). Callum became the first British boxer to win six consecutive fights by way of first round knockout. This was seen as Callum’s first big test as a professional and was all the more special for being in his hometown.
